Now my Korean Fried Chicken Bites recipe holds a very special place in my heart because it was in fact the first recipe reel of mine to go ‘viral’ and hit 1 million views! How crazy?
Let’s Talk Korean Fried Chicken Bites
On the one hand I was over the moon and then on the other I was very nervous as to what people would have to say. What if somebody tried my recipe and thought that it tasted crap? Needless to say, I was terrified. I don’t think I’ve had anyone who’s tried one of my recipes report back with it being crap so why I had this fear I can’t tell you. Of course I have had multiple faceless trolls shout (quite literally, the comments are usually in all caps haha) at me for not using the ‘correct technique’, because EVERYONE is an expert on the internet. Nonetheless, I am extremely grateful for everyone that watches, likes and comments (minus the meanies) on my videos! I will add that the majority, if not all, of said ‘meanies’ are on TikTok and although that platform has completely taken over my vocabulary and even replaced Twitter as my bedtime scrolling app, it has also given me a whole hoard of people who are convinced that I sound like Emma Watson, so you win some you lose some eh?
I have digressed massively, it will not happen again. Time to talk KFC!
Spring onion garnish
Now if you haven’t already noticed my curly spring onion garnish, I am here to tell you how you can make it at home:
- Cut the green portion of your spring onions lengthways into strips (the thinner you can make them the better!)
- Submerge them in a bowl of ice cold water for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove them and pat dry with kitchen towel
You should end up with beautifully curled spring onion which you can use as garnish on any dish really (noodles, fried rice- the list goes on)
My Korean fried chicken bites are perfect for those fussy eaters who don’t like bones or getting their hands dirty (my sister) and they go perfectly with almost every carb (rice, chips or noodles) my family and I opted for chips and salad on this occasion. Here is the picture I took right before we tucked in (not gram worthy but the KFC still looks 10/10)
I hope you’ve enjoyed my rambling and will enjoy my recipe! Same time next week?
