Crumbles are the epitome of comfort desserts – warm, fruity, and topped with a crispy, buttery layer of goodness. That’s why I’ve come up with the perfect recipe for a single serving nectarine crumble!
Why Nectarines?
Nectarines, with their juicy sweetness and delicate tang, make an ideal choice for this single-serving treat. Plus, their slightly firmer texture holds up beautifully when bake. This recipe also works well with traditional apple or plum. Use whatever you’ve already got at home!
Ingredients for my Single Serving Nectarine Crumble
For the Filling:
- 2 ripe nectarines
- 1 teaspoon of butter
For the Streusel Crumble Topping:
- 6 tablespoons plain flour
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a small oven-safe ramekin or baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Prepare the Nectarines
- Begin by halving the nectarines and removing the pit
- In a pan, add the butter and once warm add the ripe nectarines and cook until golden and lightly charred, this will take about 3 minutes on a medium heat
- Make the Streusel Crumble Topping:
- In another bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix well until a streusel like crumb starts to form!
- Assemble and Bake:
- Place the prepared nectarine in the greased ramekin or baking dish, spreading them out evenly.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping over the nectarines, covering them completely.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the nectarines are bubbling and the crumble topping is golden brown and crisp.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Remove the nectarine crumble from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
- For an extra indulgent touch, top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream however I was lazy and so just went for a dollop of some extra thick double cream .
