Korean Soy Garlic Crispy Tofu

Ingredients

  • 400 g firm tofu
  • 5 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • tsp white pepper powder
  • oil for frying

Soy & Garlic sauce

  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic crushed or grated
  • 1 tbsp gochujang sauce
  • spring onion for garnish

Instructions

  • Begin by removing your tofu from it packaging and patting it dry. Cut the tofu into small squares, depending on what your idea of a bite sized piece is!
  • In a Tupperware, place the chopped tofu and your cornflour, garlic powder, white pepper and onion powder. Put on the lid and shake well to coat the tofu.
  • Deep fry your tofu in batches on medium-high heat until golden and crispy! Set aside on a paper towel lined plate once fried.
  • In a pan, add the ingredients for the Soy Garlic sauce and heat for 2-3 minute son a med-low heat.
  • Toss the tofu in this sauce, garnish with spring onion and serve!
