Nutella Cream Puffs

These Nutella cream puffs are a delightful combination of flaky pastry, rich hazelnut spread, and light, fluffy whipped cream. Perfect for an indulgent treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 roll of ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 200 g Nutella warmed in the microwave
  • 50 g hazelnuts chopped
  • 400 ml double cream
  • 3 tablespoons icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

Instructions

Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Cut the puff pastry into triangles. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle lightly with brown sugar.

Bake the Pastry

  • Place the triangles on a lined baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Prepare the Fillings

  • While the pastry bakes, chop the hazelnuts and warm the Nutella in the microwave. Transfer the Nutella into a piping bag.

Whip the Cream

  • In a mixing bowl, whip the double cream, icing sugar, and vanilla bean paste. Under-whip slightly to prevent splitting when piped.

Assemble the Cream Puffs

  • Once baked, allow the puff pastry to cool slightly, then slice each piece in half horizontally. Pipe Nutella onto the bottom half, followed by the whipped cream. Place the top half back on.

Decorate and Serve

  • Drizzle more Nutella over the top and sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts for extra crunch. Enjoy!
